The Municipality of Mezdra continues to enrich its cultural calendar with events that have a national dimension. After the revival of the National Literary Competition for short stories "Grandpa Yotso watches" and the Symposium on Sculpture this year, on September 12, 2020 in Mezdra will be held the First National Folklore Festival "Hortseto na Defileto" (Dance of the Gorge). The event is part of the festive program to mark the 70th anniversary of the declaration of Mezdra as a city and is included by the Ministry of Culture in the initiative "European Heritage Days", which will be entitled: "Europe, a common heritage".
