9th Practical Seminar for Balkan Folklore
Balkanfolk 2006
In the program of Balkanfolk 2006 are included the next courses:
bulgarian folk dances, romanian folk dances, Musical Instruments, gaida, kaval, dvoyanka, duduk, gadoulka, tamboura, tapan, tarambouka, taragot, accordion - bulgarian music, bulgarian folk singing and bulgarian language.

In the course of the eight consecutive edditions of the festival took part, 96 folklore ensembles from 54 states in Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America, as well as 65 Bulgarian folklore formations. During the 1998-2005 period guests and participants were more than 4300 friends of the world folklore art. Over 226 concerts have been held in 28 towns and 22 villages both in the region and throughout the country, which have been attended by more than 240 000 viewers.
The Festival is said to be one of the biggest international folklore forums in the Balkans. It is a huge national event with world fame and a unique atmosphere.
The ninth International Folklore Festival will take place on July 22 - August 05, 2006. As organizers of the event, we have the ambition to enrich the participants' list with ensembles from many attractive cultures and ethnic origins.
