Each year a small miracle takes place in the beautiful Welsh market town of Llangollen which is the International Musical Eisteddfod. Since 1947, thousands of competitors have taken part in what has become the world's leading light in the promotion of Peace and Friendship through music.
This year will see more than 50 different countries represented bringing the colour and pageantry of the entire world to one site. The 4,100 seater Pavilion will echo with singing and dancing from around the globe. Competitions this year include the traditional Male Choirs, Folk Dance and Classical Soloists, along with Barbershop, introduced last year, and Celtic Music Competitions, brand new for 2005.
In the evening, professional artists take to the stage with competitors from around the world to present a series of celebrity concerts, with musical genres from Opera and Classical to Flamenco and Celtic.
