ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games
Games of the XXVIII Olympiad - Athens 2004 Olympic Games
On the evening of August 13, 2004, the world will turn its eyes to the Olympic Stadium for the Opening Ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games. Approximately four billion people will view this historic event. It will be a proud moment for the people of Greece and an exciting beginning to the sixteen days of stunning competition to follow.
It will take the combined effort of over 8,000 volunteer performers, plus 2,000 artistic and technical volunteers working behind the scenes, to realise the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. The time commitment required for Ceremonies volunteers is greater than any other Games-time volunteers, but the result will be worth it. We invite you to join the celebration and apply to become an Opening and Closing Ceremonies volunteer today.
