The festival will be held in Katerini, Pieria (68 km from Thessaloniki), the land of the ancient Thracian tribe “Pieres” and the Muses, on the flanks of Mount Olympus, the mythological residence of the ancient Greek pantheon, and close to the coasts of the blue Aegean Sea. It will be held during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the independece of the region. We expect that the festival will provide oportunities to the participants to learn about different cultures and people, create new friendships, exchange experience and contacts with other folk groups.

PARTICIPANTS
Type of groups that can participate: Traditional folk dance groups from Europe

PARTICIPATING CONDITIONS:
- Number and age of participants is not limited,
- The group should have prepared at least 10-15 minutes program accompanied by orchestra or CD,
- Each group should bring a flag of their country,
- Transport to and from the airport is on the group’s expenses. However, the organizing committee can provide transport to and from the airport on reasonable prices.

Registration fee:
The registration fee is 150 Euros per person which includes
- 7 days (6 nights) (half board - breakfast and dinner) in 2* hotels (in three-bed rooms) by the seaside of Pieria
- Only 3-4 performances for each group in the Festival
- After each performance meal will be offered to the participants
- Parade and presentation of the groups will be held at the central square
- Certificates of participation will be given
- Invitation letter will be provided if needed
- Every 25 participants one is free.

The participation fee DOES NOT include:
- If accommodation is exceeded, it will cost 25 Euros a day per person (half board - breakfast and dinner) in 2* hotels (in three-bed rooms)
- accommodation in double rooms, in case of availability, will cost an extra five euros a day per person
- Optional Tours (e.g. Mount Olympus, Archaeological sites of Dion and Vergina, traditional villages, coastal areas and beaches). Seasonal prices vary according to the number of participants.
- First aid and emergency support will be provided, but medical services must be covered by the group. The participant’s safety is on their personal responsibility.


* The final programme of the festival could be changed by the organizers if needed. Upon arrival, a detailed program of the festival and a person in charge will be provided to each group.

** The registration form should be sent before 31st of May, 2012 in order to confirm your participation. Once you have submitted your registration form, a confirmation will be delivered to you along with payment instructions. 30% of the total amount should be paid before 10th of June, 2012. The invitation letter will be sent to you after reveivimg your payment receipt. The rest of the total ammount for the group, must be received one week before your arrival in Pieria. In case of cancellation no refund will be given.

За втори път Народно читалище „Светлина – Царевец 1927” организира Националния фолклорен фестивал „Фолклорен извор 2012”, който ще се проведе на 3, 4 и 5 август 2012 г. ( петък, събота и неделя ) в с. Царевец, общ. Свищов, обл. Велико Търново.

Фестивалът е с конкурсен характер.

Целта на фестивала е да се съхранява, популяризира и развива народното песенно и танцувално творчество на България;
- да се поддържат културните взаимоотношения между самодейни и професионални колективи от страната;
- да се насърчи приемствеността на младото поколение към активно общуване с изкуството.

На 4 и 5 август 2012 ще се проведе XIII Събор на народното творчество "Пирин пее".

Началото на Събора на народно творчество „Пирин пее” е поставено през 1962 г. и до 1985 г. се провежда на всеки пет години. През 1985 г. тази забележителна проява на автентичните фолклорни традиции на Пирин е преустановена. След 12 години Съборът на народното творчество „Пирин пее” успешно е възстановен през 1997 г. и заявява своето присъствие в културния живот на България и Пирин, заявява и своето намерението да насърчи и да запази уникалното фолклорно наследство на Югозападна България.

Седмият фестивал е проведен през 1999 година. Над 200 000 души от България, Гърция, Русия, Украйна, Япония, Южна Корея, САЩ, Германия, Швеция и др. участват и посещават традиционно този славен форум на българския дух.

Съборът се провежда на всеки 2 години в местността „Предел” между двете величествени български планини Рила и Пирин.

Организатор на XIII Събор на народното творчество „Пирин пее” е Община Разлог и Областна администрация – Благоевград.

The International Folklore Festival in Pirot, Serbia in 2011, he was named for the event of the year in our city.

For that, first of all responsible participants of the Festival: Bulgaria, Mexico, Turkey, Portugal, Slovenia and Serbia, and of course-I-organizer of Culture Pirot.

This year the festival takes place from 05 to 09 August.

Applications for participation in the festival began. Report their ensembles, and come to Pirot to socialize.

Фондация "Българе" съвместно с община Котел, кметство село Жеравна, "Сдружение за Жеравна" и ,"Бона фиде" обединиха усилията си, за да създадат уникален, елитарен фестивал, който може да се сравни само с машина на времето – "Фестивал на фолклорната носия" – Жеравна 2012.

На 17, 18 и 19 август в село Жеравна за пети път ще се съберат хиляди хора от всички краища на България, за да се веселят, пеят, свирят и танцуват така както са го правили техните пра дядовци и баби преди 100-150 години.

Единственото нещо, което ще ги обединява е, че всички ще бъдат облечени с фолклорни носии (автентични, сценични, създадени от стари майстори или ушити специално за тях, по свой вкус и размери). Всеки ще бъде пременен в старинно облекло изразяващо неговия произход, нрав, материално положение, занаят и т.н.

Присъствайки на този фестивал, вие ще преживеете едно изключително, автентично преживяване, което няма как де се сравни с нищо друго.

Ще ядете чевермета, стари мезета, пресни сирена и суджуци, топли погачи и симити, ще пиете руйно вино и ракия, ще се наслаждавате на родопските гайди и македонските зурни, ще гледате истински пехливански борби, ще се запознаете с различни кукери и маскарадни игри. Ще притаявате дъх пред мистичните нестинари, ще участвате в древни игри и обичаи. Ще се докоснете да старите майстори и занаяти…

Единственото, което трябва да направите е да облечете фолклорна носия и да дойдете до Жеравна.

The seminar will be held in Pieria (the land of the ancient Thracian tribe 'Pieres' and the Muses), on the flanks of Mount Olympus, the mythological residence of the ancient Greek pantheon, and close to the coasts of the blue Aegean Sea.

The seminar will take place from 17 to 26th August 2012, when most traditional feasts ('glendia' or 'panegyria') take place in the area, as well as famous festivals of traditional 'gaida' (bagpipe), and ancient Greek drama festivals in the theatre of Dion, the sacred town of the ancient Macedonians.
The seminar program will offer courses of traditional Greek dances and customs, including women's ritual dances, from different regions (Pontus, Black Sea, Serres, Drama, Pieria and
Olympus) as well as lessons in traditional Greek culture, philosophy, language, music and singing from well-known teachers, researchers and musicians (Yvonne Hunt, Laura Shannon, Giorgos Pavlos, Kostas Nikolaidis, Katerina Asteriou-Kavazi, Vassilis Komatas, Panayotis Pagonidis, Vassilis Gerovasileiou, Lefteris Pavlou, Yannis Kakaras, Panayotis Pavlos, Panos Zikidis).

There will also be special nights of traditional music at the seminar
venue or in villages, where we will have the chance to dance with local people.

Various scenic excursions and cultural tours will give the chance to admire the natural wonders of the sacred Mount Olympus, the legendary burial place of Orpheus and great examples of ancient Greek civilization, music and echnology.

We are expecting you for a unique cultural experience!!!

PLACE: Pieria, Mt Olympus, Greece – around 90 km from Thessaloniki airport (easily reached by train and bus). Participants can also be transferred from the airport to the seminar venue for a small charge.
