JIVO Dance Formation returns with a Grand Prix from the Festival “The Kingdom For the Peace” in Jordan
2 April 2009

From 16 to 29 March 2009 JIVO dance formation went on a tour abroad – to Jordan!

The group had an invitation for the Festival “The Kingdom for Peace”, under the patronage of the Princess of Jordan, celebrating King Abdullah’s birthday. Folklore ensembles form Austria, Czech Republic, Mexico, Ukraine and Greece took part in the festival. The festivities in theatresa and vast halls hosted by the King’s family inspired the performers and the audience in Amman, Kerak, Ramtha and Jerash warmly applauded the Bulgarian dances and songs!

Ambassadors, attaches from embassies in Amman, ministers and representatives of the Administration and the king’s court came to the opening celebration. The ensemble was awarded by the Princess for the vivid performance and has also won the award of Amman’s municipality and the Grand Prix!

Supported by The Bulgarian Embassy in Jordan, we took part in opening of the Francophone week in Amman state university – an event, which was widely promoted in media. The formation was invited to participate in the festivities on the occasion of the national holiday on 25 May!
Meeting the Bulgarians, who live in Jordan, was quite emotional and extremely interesting!
Jordan, an antique and contemporaneous country, gave as a unique experience: Petra (one of the world’s miracles), Dead Sea – in which we didn’t sink, reading a newspaper, Kekak and Jerash (with the Roman buildings), desert, sand storm, rain ….unforgettable and amazing!
