Dimitar Bogdanov was born in 1965 in the town of Kardjali, Bulgaria. He started playing the accordion when he was still very young, enthralled by the playing of his father, and parallel to that he also sang folk songs. In 1984 he finished the Philip Koutev. Secondary School of Music in Kotel, his main subject being folk singing. He went to live in Plovdiv and worked with one of the most famous weddingorchestras in Bulgaria - the Kanarite, Mladost, Orphei. Currently he is soloist of the :ladi Trakiitsi orchestra. He has released 4 albums with his own folk-based songs. Since 1998 he has been working together with his brother Nedko Bogdanov, who is an accordion player. In 2005 they launched their project Sharena sol (Mixed salt), which, beside them, included also Dimitar Karamitev - kaval, and Kostadin Kostov - percussions. Yhey had great success in presenting their programme in Europe. |
