The way that Diablo Immortal looks and feels is dependent on which version on iOS or Android or the beta version on your PC. (Your saved save data will sync between the two, so there's no need to commit to one or another.)
On mobile, the game boasts impressive graphics and excellent performance. You'll require a very powerful smartphone to run it well. With my Pixel 4a the game chugged and lagged occasionally, and the machine was very hot. It's also difficult to keep on top of everything happening in such a small area in particular when you need to concentrate on certain abilities. You can alleviate this somewhat by playing on an iPad and using a controller . But then you may as well choose to play with your PC.
The PC version isn't enough, however. It's still it's a mobile game with large screens and has a poor resolution to its blurred textures. The animations for non-player characters are absurd, especially how they operate. But, the visual issues are not as bad as the game's issues. There's a lot of confusion when it comes to pathfinding; rewards don't always load well; and, most important of all, your attack button may occasionally stop working and nothing else than restarting the game can be able to fix it. Imagine how much fun this could be when you're on the verge of an intense dungeon run.
However the audio is up to the usual Diablo standards and includes some very atmospheric background music as well as decent voice acting.
I'm not mad at Diablo Immortal. I'm sure that some players may. It's a relatively insignificant title in a storied series, and the F2P mechanics are just as intrusive as they appear. But if (and this is a big "if") you can manage to overcome this, you'll find an excellent game underneath with a great gameplay experience and a wide range of exciting things to do.
