This release, dedicated to the 2000th anniversary of the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ, features 17 selected works, including examples of East Orthodox church chant, which has a tradition in Bulgaria going 1000 years back. They are performed by the Sofia Priest Choir, conducted by Kiril Popov. The choir was found in 1947 and its repertoire includes many part works mainly by Bulgarian and Russian authors as well as monophonic chants from the Eastern Church singing tradition.
