The Pirin Sings Festival was first organized in 1962, and until 1985 it is held every five years. In 1985, this outstanding manifestation of the authentic Pirin folklore traditions ceased. The Pirin Sings Foundation implemented successfully the first stage of the program in 1997, by restoring the Festival after a 12 years period and by declaring its presence in the cultural life of Bulgaria and Pirin with the intention to promote and preserve the unique folklore heritage of Southwest Bulgaria. The Seventh Festival was held in 1999. Over 200,000 people from Bulgaria, Greece, Russia, Ukraine, Japan, South Corea, USA, Germany, Sweden, etc., visit traditionally this glorious forum of the Bulgarian spirit and take part in it. The festival occurs every 5 years.

CHILDREN'S CAMP "ONCE UPON A TIME..."

In a small village of Kassandra, we have created "Once upon a time", with much artistic feeling and love for children and man, tradition, nature and life...

"Once upon a time...
Means holidays and relaxation! Entertainment and action! Daring and adventure! A live fairytale-like reality...
In a ravine where holly, myrtles, arbutuses rove their braches. At a place where nightingales compose their musical symphonies In a valley whose boundaries are set by pine clad mountainsides.
Near the unique natural spring of Kassandra "Patatlaka", where gurgling waters spring from the heart of the mountain...
...at a place with a climate that can be compared to no other. At New Skioni, located at the peninsula of Kassandra in the prefecture of Halkidiki, only 1 km from the northeastern part of the picturesque village. All tradition gathered in this valley which seems as if untouched by time; however you will discover that time here is never enough if you want to see everything.
At "Once upon a time" you will see no dead exhibition areas.
You will experience live tradition, a fairytale-like reality, a game of tradition and life, of nature, man, animals, in as ideal relationship.

It's great honour for us to invite you to Greece..Prefecture of Skioni
III.Internatıonal meeting of Chıldren and Youth Folkdance and Folk musıc Ensembles..For the year 2010 the Festıval will be held in the period from 22 - 27 August 2010.
The Festıval is open the amateur Folklore Ensembles of Dancing and Music groups with live or recorded music and for partıcıpants between the ages 10 to 30 years old.
x Accomodatıon in a Gogakou Folk Camp. www.gogakou.gr
x Three meals perday/perperson
x No limit on the number of people to partıcıpate in Festıval.

The Association of Cultural club ‘BISER’ was founded on April 14th 2006 based on Decision of Inaugural meeting and registered in the Ministry of Justice in Bihac.
The main goals of foundation are: preservation, promotion, development and public presentation of culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the area of tradition of folklore games and vocal instrumental music, permanent researching of folklore creativity with the aim of protecting its originality, gathering of citizens and schools’ youth as achieving of extraordinary quality in presentation of folklore during the occasional festivities/ceremonies, humanitarian, economic and competitive appearances, connecting with individuals and other associations in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as other countries, common achievement of status position of main Association, organizing of professional consultations and cooperation with other associations and institutions from domain of folklore creativity.
In accordance with this, the Association works in three sections/groups:

1) Folklore group, which is the biggest one
2) Choir group
3) Group of manufacturing folk handicrafts related to manufacture of folk costumes.

Members of folk together with researching of folklore also have two more tasks to organize teaching on topic: ‘How to help children at school?’
With all these tasks and their achievements, CC ‘BISER’ has been presented so far at all important cultural and artistic events in BiH as well as in abroad.

It is important to mention that they were participants during the International Festivals in Bosanska Otoka, Brekovica, Glamoč, Gvozd, Ripač, Bužim, in the area of Velika Kladuša municipality as well in abroad as International Festival in place Sezged in Hungary, in Greece at their International festival in honour of Maria, the Virgin of town Mitrousi and Terpin, in Slovenia at the 4th International Festival called ‘From Celje to Žalac’ as well as presentation of folk customs in place Kamnik. At all these festivals, CC ‘BISER’ received Diploma, thank-you-letters, medals, and other casual gifts.
They got eight days as a reward to stay longer in Greece but they did not stay due to the coming of Bayram holiday.
The performance of CC ‘BISER’ has been presented very well through the media, newspaper and video recording what means that they have good cooperation with independent newspaper ‘Reprezent’, Radio and TV station in Velika Kladuša and Una Sana Canton. They were also the guests during the Lottery show of BiH, TV show called ‘FOLK SHOW’ and Gastrofest at presentation of Bosnian inheritance.
They are the most proud of membership in Association of Amateur cultural clubs of BiH since 2007 where they got Certificate as symbol of appreciation for independent excellent results for protecting of art and cultural creativity during 2008.
Since the period of foundation till now KUD ‘BISER’ has worked out 10 choreographies as well as obtained the equipment/costumes which had been reconstructed according to the original.
KUD ‘BISER’ has carried out cooperation with Association of entertainers called ‘LIRA’ radio and TV company in Velika Kladuša, Una Sana Canton, the Association for promotion of book called ‘LIBER’ as well as with primary and secondary schools in the area of Velika Kladuša municipality.
The Club is run by Management Committee and Assembly of Association under management of President RAMIC Jagoda and Secretary DELIC Nisveta.
